Technical overview

Edge Evidence explores preserving evidence, processing it reliably and verifying copies. This public application demonstrates inspection of synthetic example states. It does not run the Processor or Replication workers.

Three responsibilities

ComponentWhat it doesWhat it does not own
Web UIDisplays artifacts and sends inspection requestsWorker execution or authoritative evidence
Evidence APIServes disposable synthetic artifacts and receiptsDurable evidence storage or processing
Edge AgentClassifies a supplied artifact using predefined rulesPermission to process, replicate or change infrastructure

The inspector’s HTTP handler calls inspect_artifact(payload) directly. It does not need to fetch that payload from the API. The browser retrieves the artifact and submits it for inspection.

Two runtime arrangements

The browser reads artifacts and separately submits a supplied artifact for inspection. The gateway assembles the UI and selected API/Agent routes in one process.

Open the full-resolution architecture diagram to enlarge it using your browser’s zoom controls. The two arrangements are also described below in text.

Local Compose: three separately packaged services, normally on ports 8080 (API), 8081 (Agent) and 8082 (UI). The browser uses explicitly configured backend origins and CORS.

Gateway container: one Uvicorn process assembles the UI and selected routes from the API and Agent applications. Browser requests stay on one origin. This preserves the logical responsibilities, not production-grade process or service isolation.

The gateway honors PORT; its Dockerfile runs as a non-root user and sets EDGE_AGENT_ENABLE_ADK=0.

Worker execution is a different demonstration

The Processor architecture and Replication architecture describe the separate engineering components. Their complete documentation is not imported here.

The Visual Gateway is not a continuous processing-and-replication pipeline. An Explain interaction returns a classification; it does not execute the separate workers.

Continue with local setup or the authority boundaries.

Version and operational scope

These pages describe the pinned public source, not a freshly attested hosted release. No current cloud topology, uptime, SLO or deployment availability is established by this documentation. Historical deployment records remain separate from implementation claims.

Source and provenance

Curated adaptation of pinned public source; not a current hosted-deployment attestation.
